If Only We Could All 'Sleep Like a Baby'

Seasons bring lots of changes for children of all ages with daylight savings, temperature and daily activity being some of the most common ones related to sleep.

Here are a few tips to help your little one to continue to have a better sleep all year round.

  1. 1. Dress your child for the season, such as 100% cotton in the hotter months and 100% merino wool for the cooler months - merino wool is known as one of the best quality natural fibres in the world and is perfect for all seasons and environments, keeping your baby warm in the cold and cool in the heat, thus enabling your baby to settle quicker, sleep longer, feed better, cry less and gain weight faster.
  1. 2. Buying baby bedding and dressing the bassinet or cot can be a fun way to prepare before your baby is born. Cotton fitted sheets are quick and easy to put on and take off, your baby or child can’t pull them off and become tangled (plus it saves you having to remake the bed so often).
  1. 3. Sleeping Bags are great for little ones from three months of age - no quilts or duvets to throw or kick off. This means your baby stays the same temperature all night. And when you're away from home your baby will be sleeping in an unfamiliar place, the sleeping bag will provide something familiar to them. routine is everything.
  1. 4. Blankets are easy to layer and help keep your child at the right temperature, simply add or take away - keep in mind that a folded blanket counts as two baby blankets.
  1. 5. When your baby is very small they do not have the ability to regulate their temperature the way we can, so the best way to check is to feel the back of their neck which should be warm to the touch. Another general rule of thumb is to put one more layer than you are wearing.

Sweet dreams
